Hope to Achievement with KEF

Meet Sandra, a bright and determined young woman from South Kinangop, Nyandarua County. Sandra recently completed Form 4 in 2023 and is now pursuing a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Technology (Power) at Kiambu National Polytechnic where she joined in September under the KEF bridge scholarship.

Before joining KEF, life was challenging for Sandra. “Every Monday, pupils would be sent home for fees. I was always worried and desperate because I knew I would also be sent away,” she recalls. Being out of school felt like an endless wait, with no clear path back.

Sandra's life took a turn when she received the KEF scholarship. “The feeling was awesome! I knew that KEF was a bridge to achieving my goals,” she says. With KEF’s support, she was able to stay in school and focus on her studies without the constant worry of being sent home.

Sandra excelled in her studies and is now on her way to achieving her dream. “I want to help people suffering from various problems,” she shares, driven by a deep passion for making a difference in the lives of others.

At home in South Kinangop, Sandra enjoys the simplicity and sustainability of her community, where most of the food is grown locally, reducing costs. In her free time, she loves playing volleyball, savoring chapati with ndengu stew, and spending time with her favorite animal—a dog.

For Sandra, KEF has been more than just a scholarship. “KEF is the major part of my life, my bridge to achieving my goals, my everything—actually, my life,” she says passionately.

Sandra's journey is just one of many life-changing stories made possible by KEF. Join us in supporting more students like Sandra by donating today at https://www.kenyaeducationfund.org/donate. Together, we can be the bridge to a brighter future.
