HEAVY BURDENS LIFTED

Zuhura at Gatero Girls’ High school

My name is Zuhura. I am fourteen years old and currently in form one at Gatero Girls High School. My school is located in Laikipia West county, however, I come from Gilgil in Nakuru county. To shed some light on myself; I come from a family of six, my favorite food is ugali with kales and my favorite wild animal is the zebra.

Before meeting KEF, my school fees took an emotional toll on us at home as we didn’t have the financial capability. Upon being granted this scholarship, my parents and I were over the moon and a heavy burden was lifted off our shoulders.

The best part about being a KEF scholar is, I have learnt the virtues of kindness and appreciation and they have spurred in me the desire to help needy children like myself in the future. In the next five years, I envision being at university pursuing a degree in medicine so as to realize my dream of becoming a pediatrician. I can’t imagine achieving all this without my KEF scholarship and the life skills gained from the annual KEF workshops.

KEF is a little heaven on earth which continuously gives us its all, and in the process, putting smiles on faces that were previously hopeless. KEF has helped countless children to fulfill their dreams and achieve their goals. Above all, it has made a long-lasting impact on society. Thank you very much, I pray that God continues to give you the resources and heart to keep changing lives like mine.
