KEF recently hosted 118 of our recent high school graduates for a week-long Career Readiness and Entrepreneurship workshop (CREW) at African Nazarene University – Nairobi. The aim of the workshop is to prepare our high school graduates for the transition to higher learning, entrepreneurship and to the careers of their choice.
The students were engaged in topics such as self-awareness, effective communication, drug awareness, HIV/AIDS prevention and a talent show among others.
The most remarkable part of the workshop was the career panels where our recent graduates were treated to the experience, guidance and wisdom of professionals in different careers. Among the esteemed panelists were a pilot, doctor, pharmacist, lawyer, engineer, and HR professional and several entrepreneurs including a baker, a car hire service provider, an investor in the oil and energy sector, a beautician and owner of coach bus company.
CREW 2018 was truly a life changing experience for our high school graduates. As they embark on the next chapter of their lives, the knowledge and insights they acquired here will guide their journey, transforming their dreams into careers.
Mary - a KEF alum in attendance at CREW - says, "I am so happy to have come this far. If it were not for KEF, I would not have had a chance to go to university. This workshop has taught me so many valuable skills, especially on effective communication and entrepreneurship, I cant wait to go out there and conquer the world!"
The workshop was crowned by a white dinner party where scholars enjoyed great food and danced the night away.
