The KEF Scholarship Award Ceremony was held on Friday, January 5th 2018. KEF awarded 200 scholarships out of the 5,000 applications it received.
Scholarships were awarded evenly to female and male students and included boarding school fees, uniform, a pair of shoes, books (mathematics table, Dictionary, Kamusi and Atlas), a geometry set, a scientific calculator and sanitary pads for the girls.
The ceremony was a success; led by a very energetic MC, our very own,Francis Ng’ang’a (left below). During the event, students were directed on how to conduct themselves, their responsibilities to KEF and informed about the the various KEF workshops they will attend. The parents were also guided on their roles and expectations. ‘To whom much is given, much is expected’, was the mantra emphasized by KEF alumni as they shared their stories and experiences with our new scholars.
Gift Mtukwa (right above), chairman of religion, African Nazarene University(ANU), crowned the event with a great motivational speech by saying, “Average people do not change the society, people of excellence do.”
Here is a short video highlighting the day we gave our new scholars their supplies.
