Support the Kenya Education Fund
GIFT OPTION #1 A Direct Sponsorship is only US $500** per year until your student graduates high school. This money benefits the student directly and covers the cost of their school tuition, room and board, transportation, uniforms, shoes, books, tutoring and mosquito nets. It is a perfect option for Peace Corps Volunteers, ex-pats, exchange students and any other foreigner who would like their contribution to assist a specific student (please fill out Special Request Form and email to the email below). **Please Note: With Direct Sponsorships you are matched with a student who becomes dependent on your annual donation to finish high school. High school takes four years to complete, so you will be asked to give this amount each year until your student graduates. There is no contract for you to sign, but please be aware that your dollars are spent directly on your student. Failure to pay annual dues will result in your student's removal from school. You may now sign up online to sponsor a Kenyan student. The KEF accepts all major credit cards on our website through Network for Good. Please indicate in the “Designation” field which grade you wish to start sponsoring a student so we may match you with the appropriate child (example: a 9th grader will require a four year committment from you at $500 a year. An 11th grader only requires a two year committment). There are no age or grade restrictions for sponsors who request a specific child whom they know, however the KEF is unable to provide a tax deduction for this type of sponsorship as per IRS regulations (see Special Request Form). Fees may be higher for those wishing to assist university and polytechnic students.
More Ways to Make a Difference
We also greatly appreciate any gifts in kind
GIFT OPTION #3 General Contribution: This option allows concerned citizens to support the KEF with a contribution of any amount. Your generosity here allows us to provide supportive services and programs like Teacher Training for HIV/AIDS education, as well as our Computer Initiative that ships donated computers from the US to Kenyan classrooms. While we strive to keep our overhead low, your general contribution also helps us pay the bills that enable us to provide these unique and outstanding services.
