American Chamber Opera to donate proceeds from Madame Butterfly to Kenya Education Fund

Through our partners at Aid for Africa,  the American Chamber Opera (ACO) of Chicago will donate 15% of the proceeds from their upcoming performances of Madame Butterfly to education in Kenya - the KEF was chosen as one of two organizations to benefit!  We are thrilled and grateful for this generous consideration. KEF Scholar is going to Harvard!

We are proud to announce that KEF graduate, Viona Shina Leboo, has just received a scholarship to Harvard University!  Ms. Leboo attended Moi Girls' High School in Eldoret and was originally awarded a scholarship there by the Nomadic Kenyan Children's Educational Fund (NKCEF), with whom the KEF merged in 2011. Her Harvard scholarship is an incredible opportunity for Viona - one that she would not have obtained without the gift of a secondary education.
